It is important. Has been created a new porting of EMC2 on Debian 7 (Wheezy) platform, replacing the 'old' based on Ubuntu 8.04 or 10.04. The new porting allows the use of newer computers obtaining, for instance, a lower latence value. 

The install is quite traditional; the distro can be downloaded here and can be tested as 'live' in advance to test the available hardware before to write permanently the iso on the hard disk partition.

Immediately after the installation everything is ready. We have only to adapt EMC2 to our machine running the Stepconf wizard. The distro uses the Xfce desktop manager, very fast and efficient.
